Information technology for Health

Scope

The TC focuses on Information Technology applications for health. The emphasis is on the word 'applications'. The use of the word 'health' means that the TC covers IT applications across the health continuum (see figure below for definition of health continuum), esoecially:

eHealth and telemedicine systems, including Personal Health systems (PHS)
Personalized decision support & knowledge management, incl. integration of clinical and genome-based data and images
Personal health record and electronic patient record, incl. multimedia
Pervasive and Grid computing applications in health
Health IT infrastructure and services, incl. standards and guidelines for interoperability (such as HL7, Dicom, IEEE, CCR/CCD, IHE and Continua) and security and privacy issues.
